Big Boy

Today Danny and I celebrate our second wedding anniversary. We are going to make a lovely dinner at home and enjoy our 'cotton' year.    Liam is seven months old!   I can't get over how quickly he is growing and changing.  Within days, he has become a super crawler.  He is even pulling himself up to standing while holding onto whatever he can find.  His favorite toys this week are a cardboard box and Chloe's dog toys.  He pulls himself up on the box and begins banging on it like a drum.  After doing this for quite a while,  he  flops onto the floor, crawls over to the one toy on the floor that isn't his and try to eat it.  Disgusting!

Danny and I had a blast dressing Liam up for Halloween.  Liam's new favorite accessory is a bear cub hat.   He has been wearing it all week and I believe we will continue to "let" him wear it quite often.
Danny had the great idea of dressing Liam up as Big Boy.  After a fruitless search for checkered overalls, I ended up making them out of red and white duct tape.  We pulled this off in very little time on a very tight budget.  I was extremely happy with the outcome.

We were disappointed that we did not get a single trick-or-treater.  I have a giant bowl of Recce cups and Snickers, if anyone would like to come over.  Our city advertised that there was a giant event at the mall from 5-7 for children to trick-or-treat. Liam and I got there at 6:00 and every store had a sign in the window that read "Sorry. Out of candy".  How lame! We went to people watch-  Liam and I didn't need candy- due to the fact that he doesn't even have one tooth, but I felt awful for the older children.  The mall was packed full of costumed cuties with empty pumpkin bins.  How sad is it that we can't go door to door?  You just don''t get the same amazing Halloween experience going store to store, or car to car in a church parking lot!  Danny and I decided tonight that when we settle on our next city to live in, there must be a neighborhood with good Halloween festivities nearby!

This is a test

If someone had told me last year, that I would be sitting in my Miami apartment starting a blog, I would have scoffed, " Me? A blogger? Not in a million years". I have never even read a blog. I put "blogs" up on the same confused pedestal as Twitter. Alas, here I am... jobless in Florida, with an incredible baby, a dedicated husband who studies all day and night, an extremely bored dog and a lot of time to talk out loud to myself! So, why not write a few thoughts down?

Throughout my pregnancy and the first six months of Liam's life, I have been sending sporadic mass emails to those who showed an interest in what was going on. Now, I will have a forum for those ramblings. Instead of flooding your inboxes with my random ideas, you can choose to read or not to read- and I'll never know. (unless there is some magic way to see who reads your blog- I'm not that advanced... yet)

Pharmacology Cupcakes!
We are approaching our second month in Miami. Dan is half-way through his first semester at Physician Assistant school. He has already completed his first Pharmacology course! He is amazing. I am so proud of how hard he is working. Liam and I are slowly organizing our apartment. He isn't too handy with a drill, so I have had to put a few projects on hold. Hopefully, someone else will help me before he is old enough to operate the power tools. Liam is six and a half months old already. I can't believe how much he changes week to week. He is almost crawling perfectly. He is so fast. I look down for a second and he is all the way across the room. I am very amazed/frightened by his determination. Baby proofing needs to be completed STAT!
I'm off to bed now. I am proud of myself for my first post. This could go either of two ways; I could be so lazy with blogging and write only once every couple of months - or- I could find myself writing down every mundane aspect of my life and boring away any reader that I may collect - Here's hoping that I can find a happy medium!

This test was a success!
